Bio: 
Coming into Davis, I was a pre-med student with aspirations to be a physical therapist. I realized pre-med was not for me so I switched into Man Econ. I gained interest in accounting after talking a lot to my accounting professor at the time who directed me to DAS. I then joined DAS in the beginning of 2021 and really enjoyed getting to hear experiences from many professionals at different accounting firms, which has motivated me to continue on this accounting path for my future. During my free time I enjoy thrifting, grabbing coffee with friends, and going to the beach.

Bio:
Hi, I’m Iris! I joined DAS Winter 2021 because after just discovering accounting, I wanted to find a community of people who had similar career interests as me! Ever since joining the club, I have gained so many resources and knowledge about the field, which has led me to gain internships at SSF LLP, River City Bank, and KPMG. After graduating this summer, I’ll be moving to New York to work at KPMG as an auditor. Some of my hobbies include watching and critiquing movies, trying new restaurants and cafes (especially for coffee) and dancing!

I joined DAS my second year because I did not know much about the different tax firms that are out there, and I wanted to meet other students who share this same interest. This organization allowed me the opportunity to network with recruiters from a variety of firms, from the Big 4 to mid-size firms. During my free time, I enjoy watching sports (mainly basketball) and sunsets!

Hi! My name is Kim Nguyen, and I’m the treasurer of DAS. I’m a 4th year Managerial Economics Major and double minor in Mathematics and Accounting. I’ve been with DAS since January 2021 to learn more about accounting as a career. In my free time, I like to watch shows on Netflix, play video games, and travel to new places.

I am a fourth year student at UC Davis. I team captain of the cross country and track and field team. I am also a board member of a mental health organization on campus. I joined DAS to learn more about accounting and meet others with similar interest. I currently work as a tax preparer for a mid-sized firm. I enjoy going to coffee shops, hanging out with friends, and exploring outdoors.

Spencer Kidder

Spencer Kidder
MPAc Graduate Student

My name is Spencer Kidder and I am currently an MPAc student here at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. I found my passion for accounting through the lens of many professors and mentors showing me how I can utilize my analytical and quantitative acumen within the field of public accounting.  Throughout my undergraduate career, I served as an Accounting Mentor within all of the managerial accounting classes and was also a computer science intern. While taking on these responsibilities, I majored in Managerial Economics and minored in Accounting here at UC Davis. I have just taken up a Teaching Assistant role and am currently helping facilitate MGT 101, Use and Source of Accounting Info, with Professor Zern. I am also a member of the AICPA, as well as the CalCPA and have been a part of DAS for over a year now.
