Bio: 
I joined DAS halfway through my sophomore year so that I could explore the world of accounting more than just classes and I don’t know where I would be without it. It has helped me greatly both professionally and personally, and I want that experience for everyone who joins. Outside of accounting, I enjoy being competitive in sports and games, lifting, as well as hanging out with friends whenever possible.

Bio: 
Hey everyone! I’m Emily and I’m a 4th year Nutritional Biology major at UC Davis. I’m the programs director of DAS, and it’s great to meet everyone! I joined DAS Fall 2022 because I was interested in accounting and wanted to gain some experience in the field. It was inspiring listening to professionals share their career paths, which further prompted me to continue exploring accounting. In my free time, I love to bake, play tennis, and trying new coffee drinks with friends.

Hi everyone! I’m Julie and I joined DAS during Winter 2024! I joined DAS in order to learn more about the accounting world. I thought it would benefit me because I'm interested in becoming an actuary in the future and I also wanted to make connections with other people who were also interested in accounting. In my free time, I love going on spontaneous adventures with friends and eating good food!

Hi everyone! I’m Andy and I joined DAS in the Winter Quarter of 2024. After declaring my major in Managerial Economics, I became intrigued by accounting and decided to minor in it. DAS has given me the chance to explore the accounting field further and connect with people who share similar career interests. In my free time, I enjoy grabbing food with friends and family, playing video games or watching movies.

I joined DAS to find a clear path to a career in accounting. I knew this was the field I wanted to pursue, but I needed guidance on how to get there. Thankfully, DAS provided that support! Through DAS, I gained valuable experience as a summer intern at PWC and created a plan to become CPA-eligible by the time I graduate. Outside of my professional aspirations, I enjoy listening to music, going out, and making new friends!

​Bio:
I joined DAS to further my knowledge and exposure within the accounting profession while also finding a community with the same interest! Since high school, accounting was a career I was interested to go into. After taking my first accounting course, I found it to be pretty easy to understand and enjoyed it a lot. Not enjoying other courses in different subjects, I saw myself pursuing a career in accounting in which I completed a summer internship at Moss Adams and am looking into completing a Masters of Accounting program. Outside of accounting, I like to gym, watch sports, bowl, and DJ at events.

Curtis Choi

My name is Curtis Choi and I am currently a part of the MPAc program here at UC Davis. I graduated last winter in 2024 with a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a minor in accounting. Coming in to Davis, I was geared towards the pre-law path: taking political science, interning at a law firm, and gaining connections with attorneys and politicians, but deep down I did not want the stress of drafting bylaws, reading ordinances, etc. Taking Kevin Mello’s classes, I really enjoyed accounting, but did not like audit, which is what most of financial accounting is; I still had my attorney spark, which explains my current career path: tax accountant. I interned at PwC this past summer and will be returning as a full time tax associate coming up summer/fall 2025. MPAc helps tremendously with tailoring your resume, meeting your CPA exam eligibility, as well as gaining connections with firms with their “Meet the Firms” events they hold regularly.
